St. Bernard's Prayer

"...never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help and sought thy intercession was left unaided..."
- Memorare

Prayer of St. Bernard

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my mother, to you I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me.

Amen.

Pope Piux IX granted an indulgence of 300 days to those who devoutly recite this prayer.

OF MARY...

How many Mary is named in the Bible?

Mary (mother of Jesus)[Luke 1:30-31] also called the Blessed Virgin Mary
Mary Magdalene,[Luke 8:2] devoted disciple of Jesus
Mary of Bethany,[John 11:1] disciple of Jesus, sister of Martha and Lazarus; Roman Catholic tradition considers her the same person as Mary Magdalene; the Orthodox Church and Protestants consider her a separate individual in the New Testament

I woke up this morning and knew that today,
The sun would not be shining
and the clouds would be gray

My Hail Mary

i used a different version of the accepted Hail Mary whenever i am asking our Father....

....Hail Mary full of grace ,the Lord is with thee
Blessed are you amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of your womb,Jesus

.....Holy Mary,mother of God
Please pray to Jesus,(your intention here)
Amen.

i just want to share this prayer...to make clear your intention to the Lord when offering a Rosary.

religious question

...Many have said ,usually in a critical way, that we Catholics pray "to" Mary, but I believe I've also heard that, in actuality, they pray "with" Mary and that our Mother prays on our behalf)...
Yes it is... it is better stated that we Catholics ask Mary to pray for us and with us, on our behalf in order to draw us closer to her Son Jesus. The Orthodox have a saying..."Most Holy Mother of God save us" Which in reality means to ask Mary to help us toward our salvation. I believe St Paul said in " I became all things to all men, that I might save all" Paul himself could save no one...but his prayers helped them on their path to Jesus. Just pointing out.

the latin lyric

ave maria
gratia plena
dominus tecum
benedicta tu in mulierebus
et benedictus fructus ventris tui
Jesus,
Sancta Maria,Sancta Maria,Maria
ora pronobis,nobis peccatoribus
nunc et in ora,in ora mortis nostrae.amen
amen!

this is the words as sung by this singer of the group "Celtic Woman"....
singing it in latin words seems to make it more true than just praying it ...

ave maria bach-gounod

This video led me to start my second blog...being a legionary during my elementary years....has kept me coming back to our Mother...it is better rendered i think than the one done by Charlotte Church of the same piece...this is more solemn and calm like a prayer recited silently...
